My Norton subscription recently ended and I happily removed it off my computer after discovering the new free security suite that was put out by Microsoft. If you haven’t already checked out the new Microsoft Security Essentials then you’re missing out. No more having to pay for good virus scanners such as McAfee and Norton! No more having to deal with slow resource hogging virus scanners like AVG either!
I’m actually surprised to see Microsoft giving this out for free. Considering they charge for everything else they produce I begin to wonder what made them decide to give this package out for free. We all know that big security companies such as Norton charge close to $20 per month for such a product. An even bigger question that comes to mind is – what’s going to happen to these larger security companies now?

I am pretty satisfied with Microsoft Security Essentials amd yes, for a no cost security tool, this is a must have for users who don’t want to spend a dime.
What happens to companies? They’ll stay. Paid and free security tools have different market.
